About Steve Andrews Tyres

It All Started In 1984
Steve Andrews Tyres is established at Treverbyn by Steve with the support of his late father Redvers Andrews (Jack). Serving the local community with any Tyre and general vehicle repair requirements.

1990
Due to the growth of customer demand from the local community Steve Andrews Tyres moved to a larger building across from the original site which was better suited for serving customers. At this point Des Andrews, brother to Jack Andrews and Uncle to Steve joined the business assisting with site maintenance.

1991
Lyn Everett joins the company as Company Secretary.

1992
Steve Andrews Tyres had been successfully trading for 8 years and is now supplying 9 local car dealers, including Hicks Renualt St.Blazey, Carluddon Garage Lada, Carluddon Garage FSO, Mid Cornwall Cars Skoda, Bryants St Austell Vauxhall, Cornish Ford, Hawkins Motors Peugeot, Ivor Toms Car Sales & P.C Tonkins Citroen.
We soon gained the technical information’s on the most popular Vehicles chosen by the local community to serve them professionally and this is how our company logo was constructed “For A Quick & Personal Cornish Service”.

1995
Steve Andrews Tyres Truro branch opens its doors at St. Georges Road, Truro which was formerly Truro Tyre Company. With John Dyer as branch manager who formerly worked at Truro Tyre Company. Serving the local community with Car, Van and 4x4 tyres.

1996
Steve Andrews Tyres becomes a Limited company and its St. Austell branch is relocated to Mount Charles Road, a bigger site again to deal with demand from the local community.

1997
Steve Andrews Tyres roll out a customer loyalty scheme for members to benefit from all services provided. Also, this year we created our own unique personal guarantee against workmanship and parts supplied alongside a strict quality assurance process.

1998
Dean Andrews, Steve’s eldest son joins the growing business as a workshop technician at St. Austell.

2001
Brian Andrews, Steve’s middle son joins the business as a workshop trainee at St. Austell.

2002
Steve Andrews Tyres Bodmin branch opens its doors with Dean Andrews as branch manager and a team of 2 workshop technicians serving the local community with any Tyre and General Vehicle repair needs.

2003
Brian Andrews moves across to the sales team at St. Austell working on reception.

2003
Steve Andrews Tyres Group are invited to join the Bridgestone First Stop Centre Program and soon afterwards are awarded the customer services award within the Bridgestone First Stop program.

2005
Steve Andrews Tyres Truro branch undergoes a major refurbishment allowing the branch to better serve the local community with General Vehicle repairs as well as tyre requirements.

2006
Brian Andrews becomes Branch Manager at St. Austell branch.

2008
Vicky Everett, Lyn’s daughter in law joins the head office team to assist Lyn.

2008
Dean and Brian Andrews complete their Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) Business Management Level 5 training.

2010
Steve Andrews Tyres St. Austell branch has new office space introduced to accommodate a growing head office team as well as space to accommodate bespoke in-house training.

2010
Steve Andrews Tyres become a member of Point S (Hyperlink) who are Europe’s leading group of independent professional tyre dealers and Tyre Safe (Hyperlink) who are is the UK’s charity dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of correct tyre maintenance and the dangers of defective and illegal tyres.

2012
Steve Andrews Tyres provide training for the local authorities / traffic police on tyre knowledge and legality.

2013
Dean Andrews becomes Company Sales Manager.

2013
Accidental warranty is given against quality selected in house brands.

2014
Dean Andrews becomes Company operations manager and Brian Andrews takes over as Company Sales Manager.

2014
Steve Andrews Tyres are nominated and awarded the St. Austell Saints award for being a Community Friendly Business as voted by the local community.

2015
Vicky Everett becomes Company Secretary taking over from Lyn.

2015
Steve Andrews Tyres are proud to be supporting Children’s Hospice South West as our chosen charity for which we continue to support.

2016
Due to public demand, Steve Andrews Tyres St. Austell expands to accommodate a MOT bay to allow class 4, 5 & 7 MOT’s to be done on site.

2018
Steve Andrews Tyres St. Austell branch are awarded Pirelli Performance Centre Status (PPC). This status is only given to elite, leading tyre dealerships who offer first class customer care and attention, with high-level technical proficiency and service when it comes to recommending, fitting and balancing high performance tyres.

2019
Steve Andrews Tyres Truro branch are awarded Pirelli Performance Centre Status (PPC).
